Reston Walkability

Reston Walkability

Reston, VA was built around the idea that homes be within a 1/2 mile from a village center. When I have clients looking to move from DC proper, Arlington, or Alexandria in need of more space and a bit more affordability, I always advise them to consider Reston. Since 2005, I have lived in North Reston. From our home, we can walk to North Point Village Center, Lake Anne Plaza, Reston Town Center, and plenty of other dining, functional amenities (like Trader Joe's!), and shopping. This is not common in a suburban setting. If you are relocating to Northern Virginia and walkability is important to you, Reston is an excellent option.

Everyone is craving a healthier lifestyle and walking can be a wonderful way to maintain both mental and physical well-being. Walkability also serves the younger population of kids and teens who can safely enjoy riding bikes, skateboarding, scooting, walking, and running with friends on trails and to destinations like lakeside communities and coffee houses. I love seeing kids in our community meet up with friends on foot or wheels, disconnected from devices, and enjoying both the outdoors and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
